Prostrate shrub to small, narrow tree with drooping branch tips. Leaves needle-like, in 3's at a stem joint, sharp pointed, 10-15 mm long with 2 bands on the upper surface. Fruit 6-10 mm wide, light brown. Seeds 2-3.
Taiwan.
Similar to J. oxycedrus but the leaves are soft and point slightly forwards, also the cones, which are rarely borne in cultivation, are dark purple with a grey bloom.
