Rhizome short-creeping, about 1 cm thick, densely hairy. Sterile and fertile fronds similar. Fronds to 1 m long, jointed at the rhizome. Blade narrowly-lanceolate, leathery, dark green, glossy; minor veins netted but with prominent parallel lateral veins on the lower surface. Sori 2-3 mm wide.
Needs shelter and warmth.
Mexico, C & S America, West Indies.
