Keeled Garlic

Herb with ovoid to oblong bulbs. Leaves 2-4, linear, stem sheathing, shorter than stem. Inflorescence 30-60 cm, stem solid, spathes 2. Flowers to about 30, bulbils sometimes present, outer flowers pendant, 4-6 mm long, cup-shaped; summer. Tepals purple, spreading. Stamens longer than tepals, free.

Central and southern Europe, Russia and Turkey.
