Soft Shield-fern

Fronds to 120 cm long, divided twice, soft, pale green, often lying more or less flat on the ground and with plantlets at the junctions of the frond branches all along the midrib; semi-deciduous in cool climates. Stalk one quarter to one third the total length with dense covering of pale scales at the base. Blade more or less narrowly ovate in outline with a long-pointed tip. Indusia pale brown. Can grow in cool areas.

Recognition: Fronds lying flat; plantlets all along the frond axis.
