Herb with ovoid bulbs. Leaves numerous, linear, basal, shorter than stem. Inflorescence 40-100 cm, stem solid, spathes 2, umbel spherical. Flowers numerous, 5-7 mm long, star-shaped. Tepals purpleviolet, rarely white, lobes spreading. Stamens longer than tepals, united basally. Spring.
