Homalanthus populifolius Graham

Shrub or small tree to 9 m high. Leaf blade triangular-ovate, 10-170 mm long, 11-170 mm wide; tip acute; base cordate, deltoid or abruptly narrowed. Inflorescence up to 140 mm long; bracts abruptly narrowed-ovate, with 2 or 3 small dorsal glands. Ovary hairless. Fruit bi-chambered, 9-10 mm long.Syn. O. populifolius Grah.

O. novoguineensis (Warb.) Lauterb. & K. Schum. from Australia and Malesia is a shrub or small tree to 10 m high. Leaf blade triangular-ovate, 40-270 mm long, 30-210 mm wide; tip acute; base cordate, rounded or abruptly narrowed. Inflorescence up to 250 mm long; bracts ovate-triangular, with well-developed flattened glands. Ovary glandular. Fruit bi-chambered, 7-9 mm long.
