Swamp Lily

Tufted aquatic plant. Submerged leaves strap-like. Floating leaves with a blade to 16 cm long, 3-6 cm wide, stalk to 1 m long. Flowers bisexual, open or closed, the open ones to 6 cm wide with outer perianth segments 1.5-2.5 cm long, green, inner ones ovate to circular, 4-5 cm long, white with a maroon base; summer.

Australia, NZ, New Caledonia.

Stamens in 3 groups. Fruit is drawn down into the water with age.
