Carex appressa R. Br.

Tall Sedge

Tufted plants with short rhizomes. Stems 3-sided above to over 1 m tall. Leaves to equal the length of the stems. Flower clusters narrow, to 40 cm long with many short spikes that are rough to the touch.

All states except Northern Territory

A popular subject for revegetation and roadside plantings.
