Wild Ginger

Leafy shoots to 2 m tall. Leaves lanceolate, to 6 cm wide the tips with a narrowed point, ligule entire. Flower cluster ovoid, about 6-7 cm long and wide on a stalk to about 40 cm long. Bracts green, becoming red. Flowers yellow. Lip white or yellow.

India

In SE Asia occasionally grown as a culinary plant but less popular than Z. officinale.
