Plant to 3 m tall. Leaves lanceolate, tip long-pointed, to about 60 cm long, 10 cm wide. Flower clusters about 20 cm long, 10 cm wide, the bracts each with 2-6 flowers. Flowers white, the lip yellow-green in the centre. Filament white.

Naturalised in Queensland, sometimes forming dense colonies along creeks.
