Macropidia fuliginosa (Hook.) Druce

Black Kangaroo Paw

Plants with short rhizomes. Leaves flat. Flowers with an irregular perianth having unequal lobes that are bent back against the tube. Floral tube covered on the outside with black hair and green inside. Stamens 6, attached near the top of the tube. Ovary inferior with 1 ovule per chamber.

Western Australia, coastal plain between Perth and Geraldton.
