Tradescantia cerinthoides Kunth

Creeping or ascending branching herb. Leaves elliptic-oblong to narrowly ovate, to 15 cm green above. purple and densely hairy below. Inflorescence terminal and axillary from upper nodes; year round. Bracts unequal, leaf-like. Sepals free, purplish, hairy. Petals free, pink, white basally. Stamens white, bearded. [T. blossfeldiana Mildbr.]

Argentina

A variegated form is also grown. The species was described from cultivated material and is closely allied to T. fluminensis.
