Geogenanthus poeppigii (Miq.) Faden

Branched, clumped herb. Leaves broadly-ovate to cordate, transversely wavy, hairy, stalked, 6-12 cm, with longitudinal silver stripes, reddish beneath. Cymes fewflowered. Flowers long-stalked; year-round. Sepals brown, hairy. Petals violetblue, ciliate-tipped.

Brazil and Peru

An attractive indoor or glasshouse plant.
