Racinaea M.Spencer & L.B.Sm.

Commemorating Racine Foster (1910–1991).

Was originally Tillandsia subgenus Pseudo-catopsis but was raised to generic status in 1993. It covers those species with sepals asymmetric, free or nearly so, not over 12 mm long.

These plants are not particularly popular because of the small size of the flowers. See notes under Tillandsia.
