Nidularium procerum Lindm.

Leaves 12-40 in a dense rosette; sheaths large, usually tinged with purple; blades ligulate, green, with spines 1 mm long. Scape evident, to over 20 cm with leaf-like bracts. Inflorescence many-flowered; primary bracts broadly ovate with a narrowly triangular, small toothed blade, green with purple or red toward tip; floral bracts slightly exceeding ovary, small toothed toward tip, sparsely scaled; sepals 23 mm long, united for 5-6 mm, hairless; petals united, pale blue, hooded.

Open semi-erect rosette, leaves soft green with faint darker green mottling. Primary bracts pink, flowers white.

Open semi-erect rosette, leaves soft, narrowing between sheath and blade, reddish-purple both sides. Scape about 20 cm long. Primary bracts red.

Open semi-erect rosette, leaves soft, dark green on upper surface with many cream variegations on red overlay; underside of leaves red and purple. Scape short. Primary bracts similar colour to the leaves. Flowers white.
