Hechtia marnier-lapostollei L.B.Sm.

Plant relatively small. Leaves few; sheaths about 2 cm wide, brown; blades narrowly triangular, thick and fleshy to 13 cm long, 2 cm wide, pungent, densely grey scaled both sides with 4 mm long marginal spines. Scape hairless, bracts with long linear blade. Inflorescence laxly bipinnate; branches divergent, male flowers to 5.5 mm long, flower stalks 1 mm long, petals about 4 mm long, rounded; female flowers to 4 mm long, flower stalks 2 mm long, petals narrowly triangular.
