Rosette on a thick stem 10-12 cm long, off-shoots emerge from between the leaves on stems to 20 cm long. Leaves to 40 cm long, dull green and hairless above, covered below with white scales; tip pointed, sharp; margins with curved spines. Inflorescence of stalkless, white flowers.
