Norfolk Island Palm

Trunk to 6 m tall and 15 cm wide, grey, ringed. Crownshaft bulging, often with reddish tints. Leaves 3-4 m long, obliquely erect to arching, dark green. Panicles about 50 cm long, stiffly branched. Fruit about 15 mm long, ellipsoid, red.

Norfolk Island

Uncommonly cultivated but sometimes seen around Sydney. Young plants have reddish leaves.

Solitary palm with a slender trunk; bulging crownshaft; obliquely erect to arching feather-shaped leaves.
