Lytocaryum weddellianum (H. Wendl.) C.A. Toledo

Trunk to 2 m tall and 4 cm wide, grey. Leaves 7-20, gracefully arching, old ones persistent. Leaflets narrow, 0.5-1.2 cm wide, bright green, shiny above, silvery grey below. Panicles about 60 cm long, slender, arching among the leaves. Fruit ovoid to elliptic, about 1.5 cm or more long, reddish to brown, shiny.

Brazil

Grows as an understorey plant in rainforest.

Very popular in cultivation and an excellent indoor plant.

Thin trunk, graceful, bright green shiny feather-shaped leaves with very narrow leaflets.
