Trunks to 1 m tall, with stiffly erect fibres. Leaf stalks green. Leaves green above, silvery to bronze beneath. Fruit about 0.5 cm wide, round. [Trachycarpus argyrata S.K.Lee & F.N. Wei]

An excellent recently-introduced small palm for subtropical and temperate regions. Moderately slow growing.

 

G. grossefibrosa J. Dransfield, S.K. Lee & F.N. Wei from southern China to Vietnam has trunks to 1 m tall, with appressed fibres. Leaf stalks green, base chalky white. Leaves green on both surfaces. Fruit to 0.8 cm long, ellipsoid. Cultivated on a limited scale.
