Albuca canadensis (L.) F.M.

Perennial herb from a bulb. Leaves several, to 15 cm long, broadly linear-tapering, sheathing, grooved above, keeled. Inflorescence to 40 cm. Flowers numerous, to 2 cm long; late winter to spring. Tepals pale green-yellow with a green midvein, outer 3 anthers sterile.

A. nelsonii N.E. Br. from South Africa is a perennial herb from a bulb. Leaves several, to 120 cm long, broadly linear-tapering, sheathing, grooved above, keeled. Inflorescence to 1.5 m. Flowers several, to 4 cm long; early summer. Tepals white with a green or red midvein, anthers all fertile.
