Rhodophiala bifida (A.D.Herb.) Traub.

Bulbs brown, to 4 cm wide. Leaves to 40 cm or so long, 1 cm wide, slightly waxy blue. Stalks 10-40 cm long. Flower clusters umbels of 2-7, individual stalks 3-5 cm long. Flowers ascending, narrowly funnel-shaped, red, 4-5 cm long; winter. Stamens to two thirds the length of the perianth. [Hippeastrum bifidum (A.D. Herb.) Bak.]
