Nerine sarniensis (L.) Herb.

Variable plant, the bulb round. Leaves to about 30 cm long, 1-2 cm wide. Flowers variable in colour and size, to about 20 per cluster; autumn. Perianth segments to about 3.5 cm long, crisped. Filaments without appendages at the base. Ovary hairless.

var. corusca (Ker Gawl.) Baker. Flowers large, salmon. Leaves broad, with crossbars between the veins.

f. fothergillii (Andr.) Traub. A robust variant. Various hybrids and cultivars are available.
