Naples Onion

Herb with spherical bulbs. Leaves 2, linear-lanceolate, basal, flat. Inflorescence 20-50 cm, stem solid, 3 sided, spathe 1. Flowers numerous, spreading, 7-12 mm long, cup- or star-shaped; spring. Tepals white. Stamens shorter than tepals. [A. cowanii Lindl.]

Southern Mediterranean Europe, Asia Minor, northern Africa.

Naturalised in southern Australia.
