Asparagus retrofractus L.

Weakly climbing or scrambling, branched perennial few-spined woody vine to 2 m from a short rhizome. Inflorescence an axillary raceme. Cladodes linear-oblong, curved, 1-3 cm long, 1 nerved, numerous per node. Flowers in clusters of 3-4, bisexual, widely opening, 5-7 mm wide; summer.Tepals white. Fruit orange.
