Partridge-breast Aloe

Plants stemless, suckering, to form dense clumps. Leaves imbricate, 3 ranked, numerous (more than 10), deltoid-lanceolate, 10-15 cm long, 3-5 cm wide, spreading to recurved, dark green with irregular transverse white bands, spineless; margins whitish, somewhat crenate. Inflorescence to 30 cm long, 1-2 branched; individual flower stalks 4-7 mm long; perianth 35-45 mm long, dull pink, red or rarely pale yellow.

A small species best suited to pot culture. Tolerant of cold if grown in a protected position.
