Aloe mitriformis Mill.

Plants with stems up to 2 m long,multi-stemmed, decumbent and sprawling. Leaves in a dense rosette, numerous (more than 10), lanceolate-ovate, 10-20 cm long, 5-15 cm wide, spreading, waxy blue-green, with a few spines on lower surface; margins with sharp teeth 3-6 mm long, 5-15 mm apart. Inflorescence to 60 cm long, 2-5 branched; individual flower stalks 40-45 mm long; perianth 40-45 mm long, dull red.

A medium sized species well suited to dry climate rockeries.

Inflorescence to 60 cm long, 3-4 branched; individual flower stalks 30-40 mm long; perianth 38-40 mm long, dull red. A medium sized species well suited to dry climate rockeries.
