Waspypie

Leaves 8-30 cm long; 0.6-2 cm wide; midvein prominent. Spike to 80 cm tall with 8-22 flowers, rarely branched; early spring. Spathes oblong, 15-23 mm long, papery, brown-streaked. Perianth blush pink to red; upper tube 8-12 mm long, funnel-shaped, horizontal, 6-7 mm wide at the mouth; segments obovate, apiculate, flared, 14-16 mm long, 7-9 mm wide. Stamens in lower part of flower. Syn. W. brevifolia Ker Gawl.
