Leaves 6-7, to 25 mm long. Stem branched, wiry, flexuose and drooping. Flowers in loose spikes of 3-7. Perianth white to greenish-yellow, often with purple veins near centre; tube about 1 mm long; segments 10-15 mm long, lance-shaped with tapering tips.Spring. Syn. M. graminea (L. f.) Ker Gawl.
