Perennial herbs with branched tubers. Leaves several, basal, narrow, four-angled. Flower terminal, solitary, radially symmetrical. Perianth tube short; segments in two different series, the outer bent downward. Style branches flat, deeply forked with acute tips. Ovary 1-chambered with a short beak.
