Wavy Gladiolus

Perennial herb 40-80 cm tall. Leaves to 80 cm long, 5-18 mm wide, blue-green. Spike erect with 4-9 flowers. Spathe lance-shaped, 4-6 cm long. Perianth cream to very pale blue-green; tube 6-7.5 cm long, almost straight; segments 4-6 cm long, slightly unequal, with long wavy tapering tips. Anthers 7-8 mm, purple. Syn. G. cuspidatus Jacq.

SW Cape Province.

This species can produce bulblets in large numbers and is an environmental weed in several states - it should not be grown.
