Ferraria Miller

Commemorating G.B. Ferrari, Italian horticultural writer (1584–1655).

Perennial herbs, dormant in summer. Corms tuber-like; tunics thin. Leaves 2 ranked along the stems. Perianth segments almost free, dull-coloured, inner slightly narrower than outer, short claws forming a cup, limb crisped on margin. Stamens joined into a tube. Style branches broad, 2 lobed with erect fringes.

10 species in S Africa.

Blunt, blue-green leaves; flowers dull-coloured with intricately crisped edges.
