Cypella herbertii subsp. herbertii

Stems 35-75 cm high, repeatedly branched. Leaves 20-35 cm long, 1-2 cm wide, bright green, erect, often absent at flowering. Flowers 4-6 cm wide, lasting 2-3 days; summer. Perianth segments yellow, the claws streaked maroon and forming a shallow cup 15-20 mm wide; outer segments with broad-obovate limb 20-24 mm long. Style yellow with obtuse crests. Seeds angular, wingless. Syn. Tigridia herbertii Lindley.

subsp. brevicristata Ravenna A smaller plant with lax leaves and reduced style crests.
