Babiana tubulosa var. tubiflora (L.f.) G.Lewis

Stem bent, 5-10 cm long, unbranched. Leaves 5-7, narrow lance-shaped, acute, to 20 cm long, 4-8 mm wide. Flowers 4-10 in a congested 2-sided spike; spring. Spathe lance-shaped, 30-60 cm long, green with brown tip. Perianth tube 6-8 cm long; segments oval, obtuse, 15-25 mm long cream, the lower 3 slightly shorter with small red arrow-head or w-shaped marks.

var. tubulosa A larger plant with the upper perianth segments about 3 cm long.
