Aristea bakeri Klatt

Stem cylindrical, to 1.4 m tall with a dense terminal cylindrical panicle, the lower clusters stalked. Leaves to 1 m long, 10-15 mm wide, rigid. Spathes 10-15 cm long, red-brown. Flowers blue; perianth segments obovate, 17-20 mm long, 8 mm wide; spring. Anthers yellow. Style 8-9 mm long. Syn. A. confusa Goldblatt.
