Stenoglottis fimbriata Lindl.

Slender terrestrial, epilith or epiphyte to 40 cm tall. Roots long and tuberous. Leaves 5?20, lanceolate to oblong, to 15 cm long, to 2 cm wide, margins often wavy, green with purplish spots. Flowers 5-50, rarely more, to 1.5 cm wide, lilac with purple spots; summer to autumn. Sepals and petals ovate, petals shorter than sepals. Labellum 3-lobed at tip, lobes narrow and pointed, midlobe usually longest, spur absent.

S. woodii Schltr. from S Africa is a small terrestrial or epilithic herb with erect racemes of up to 50 pale flowers each with a 3-lobed sparsely spotted labellum that is minutely spurred at the base.
