Psychopsis papilio (Lindl.) H.G.Jones

Medium sized epiphyte. PSEUDOBULBS ovoid to oblong, to 5 cm long. LEAF ovate to oblong, to 25 cm long, to 7 cm wide. FLOWERS many, only 1 or 2 opening at once, to 15 cm wide, mostly purplish-brown mottled yellow-green; most of year. LABELLUM narrow-oblanceolate. LATERAL SEPALS oblong-lanceolate. LABELLUM 3- lobed, side lobes small, midlobe almost round, notched at tip, margins wavy.
