Promenaea stapelioides (Lindl.) Lindl.

Small epiphyte. Pseudobulbs ovoid, to 2.5 cm long. Leaves 1?3, strap-like to ovate, to 10 cm long, to 2.5 cm wide, warty, grey-green. Flowers 1 or 2, to 5 cm wide, greenish with purple bars and spots; summer to autumn. Sepals and petals ovate, spreading. Labellum centre velvety purple-black.

Brazil.

P. rollissonii (Lindl.) Lindl. from Brazil is a small epiphyte usually with solitary flowers to 5 cm wide that are mostly pale yellow with some reddish spots on the labellum.

P. xanthina (Lindl.) Lindl. from Brazil is a small epiphyte usually with solitary flowers to 5 cm wide that are mostly bright yellow with some reddish spots on the labellum side lobes.
