Polystachya adansoniae Rchb.f.

Medium sized epiphyte or epilith. Pseudobulbs conical to cylindrical, to 9 cm long, ribbed, green or yellowish. Leaves apical, 2 or 3, strap-like, to 20 cm long, to 1.5 cm wide. Flowers many, to 6 mm long, barely opening, off-white to greenishyellow; spring to summer. Labellum 3-lobed, midlobe purple or brown.

Tropical Africa.

P. concreta (Jacq.) Garay &Sweet from tropical Africa and Asia and N, C and S America is a medium sized epiphyte, epilith or terrestrial with long panicles of small fleshy flowers.
