Phragmipedium longifolium (Warsz. & Rchb.f.) Rolfe

Robust terrestrial. Leaves 5?8, strap-like, to 60 cm long, to 4 cm wide, dark green above, paler below. Flowers several, opening in succession, to 12 cm long; winter. Sepals yellowish-green with green or pink veins and white margins, dorsal lanceolate, erect or arching forward, laterals wider than dorsal. Petals yellowishgreen with purplish margins, linear, narrower than dorsal sepal, spreading, twisted. Labellum yellowish-green, pouched, margins with reddish spots.

C and S America.

P. sargentianum (Rolfe) Rolfe from Brazil is a medium sized terrestrial with bright green leaves, 2-4 green or yellowish darker veined flowers, dorsal sepal much shorter than petals and a yellow or greenish, purple-veined, pouched labellum.
