Phragmipedium caudatum (Lindl.) Rolfe

Robust epiphyte or epilith. Leaves 5?9, strap-like, to 60 cm long, to 6 cm wide, light green. Flowers 2?4, to 60 cm long; spring to summer. Sepals white or yellowish with green veins, dorsal lanceolate, arching forward, laterals shorter and wider than dorsal. Petals brownish, linear, narrower than dorsal sepal, pendulous, twisted. Labellum pinkish with darker veins, pouched, rim yellow.

Mexico, C and S America.
