Phalaenopsis lueddemanniana Rchb.f.

Medium sized epiphyte. Stem erect or ascending. Leaves oblong to elliptic, to 30 cm long, to 10 cm wide, fleshy, dull olive-green. Inflorescences to 30 cm long. Flowers many, to 6 cm wide, white with heavy purplish bars; summer. Sepals elliptic. Petals elliptic, clawed. Labellum 3-lobed, side lobes erect, midlobe oblong to ovate, purplish with a yellow base, callus white at tip.

P. amboinensis J.J. Sm. from Indonesia is a medium sized epiphyte with racemes of few, cream or yellowish flowers that are strongly horizontally barred red.

P. cornu-cervi (Breda) Blume & Rchb. f. from SE Asia is a medium sized epiphyte with racemes of several, yellow or greenish flowers that are blotched, striped or spotted with red.
