Paphiopedilum philippinense (Rchb.f.) Stein

Medium sized terrestrial, epiphyte or epilith. Leaves 4?9, strap-like, to 30 cm long, to 4 cm wide, green. Flowers usually 2?5, to 8 cm wide; summer. Dorsal sepal ovate, slightly larger than laterals, white with purplish veins. Petals linear, much narrower and longer than dorsal sepal, drooping, twisted, mostly reddish-purple. Labellum helmet-shaped, yellowish with brown veins.

P. rothschildianum (Rchb. f.) Stein from Borneo is a medium to large terrestrial or epilith with bright green leaves, 2?4 very large flowers that are mostly white to yellow with maroon veins, dorsal sepal much broader than petals and a large, protruding, reddish, pouched labellum.
