Paphiopedilum haynaldianum (Rchb.f.) Stein

Medium sized terrestrial, epilith or epiphyte. Leaves 6 or 7, strap-like, to 30 cm long, to 4.5 cm wide, dull green. Flowers 2?12, to 16 cm wide; spring. Dorsal sepal obovate, larger than laterals, whitish, purple-veined, base green or yellowish with brownish spots. Petals spoon-shaped, narrower and longer than dorsal sepal, yellow-green with brownish blotches in lower half, purplish in upper half. Labellum helmet-shaped, greenish with brown veins.

Philippines.

P. lowii (Lindl.) Stein from Malaysia and Sulawesi is a medium sized epiphyte or epilith with green leaves, 3?7 flowers with the dorsal sepal mostly green, purplish at base, petals that are spoon-shaped, twisted, green with maroon spots at base and purple tip, and a brownish, helmet-shaped labellum.
