Greek neos – new; Finetia – a similar genus in Orchidaceae named after Achille Finet (1862−1913), a French botanist.
Epiphytic herbs, monopodial. Stems erect, short, branching at base, lacking pseudobulbs. Leaves in 2 ranks, strap-shaped, fleshy, channelled. Inflorescences axillary racemes, arching. Flowers resupinate, few to several, medium sized, fragrant, white. Sepals and petals similar, free, spreading. Labellum obscurely 3-lobed, side lobes erect beside column, midlobe strap-like, base with a long slender spur. Column short, fleshy, winged. Pollinia 2, on a single triangular stipe.

Several small white flowers with long basal spur on labellum.
