Leptotes bicolor Lindl.

Small epiphyte. Pseudobulbs cylindic to spindle-shaped, to 3 cm long, fleshy. Leaves terete, to 10 cm long, to 1 cm wide, grooved above, shiny dark green. Flowers 1-4, to 5 cm wide, fragrant, white, labellum purplish at base; winter to spring, autumn. Sepals and petals linear to narrow-lanceolate. Labellum prominently 3-lobed, side lobes almost round, midlobe ovate to oblong.

Brazil and Paraguay.

L. unicolor Barb. Rodr. from Brazil is a small epiphyte with short, cylindrical pseudobulbs and 1 or 2 pendent, white, pink or pale purplish flowers to 6 cm wide with obscurely 3-lobed labella.
