Dracula bella (Rchb.f.) Luer

Medium sized epiphyte or terrestrial. Stems short, tufted. Leaves lanceolate, to 20 cm long, to 3 cm wide, fleshy, dark green. Inflorescences to 20 cm long, pendent. Flowers solitary, to 5 cm wide, nodding, yellow or greenish with dense blood-red spots; winter to summer. Sepals similar, all fused at base, laterals fused for about 2.5 cm. Petals small, fan-shaped, clawed. Labellum kidney-shaped, concave, mostly white, pink at base. Syn. Masdevallia bella Rchb. f.

D. chestertonii (Rchb. f.) Luer from Colombia is a small epiphyte with pendent inflorescences, greenish-purple-spotted flowers that open successively, short tails on the sepals and a relatively large concave labellum. Syn. Masdevallia chestertonii Rchb. f.
