Coelogyne cristata Lindl.

Robust epiphyte. Pseudobulbs cylindrical or ovoid, to 7.5 cm long, shiny green, irregularly ridged. Leaves 2, lanceolate, to 30 cm long, to 3 cm wide. Flowers 3-10, to 9 cm wide; winter to spring. Sepals and petals similar, elliptic, spreading, margins undulate, white. Labellum 3-lobed, white with yellow fringed keels.

E Himalayas.

C. flaccida Lindl. from the Himalayas is a medium sized epiphyte with pendent racemes of predominantly white flowers with the petals much narrower than the sepals.

C. mooreana Rolfe from Vietnam is a robust epiphyte with erect racemes of predominantly white flowers with the sepals and petals similar in size and with more or less flat margins.

C. ovalis Lindl. from W Himalaya to E &SE Asia has a short flowering stem with scales at the base, petals pinkish-brown, the lip yellow to pale brown with purplish to brown blotches.
