Small epiphyte. Pseudobulbs ovoid, to 4 cm long, well spaced. Leaves strap-like, to 15 cm long, to 1 cm wide, fleshy, shortly stalked. Flowers many in dense terminal umbels, spidery, on stalks to 20 cm long, white or cream, spotted red or yellow; winter. Sepals ovate, with terminal filaments, dorsal to 3 cm long, laterals to 15 cm long, free. Petals ovate-lanceolate, pointed. Labellum entire, ovate, pointed. Syn. Cirrhopetalum medusae Lindl.
B. graveolens (F.M. Bailey) J.J. Sm. from New Guinea, is a large epiphyte with clustered ovoid pseudobulbs, long oblanceolate leaves and terminal umbels of yellowish-green flowers with darker green streaks and red spots near base. Syn. Cirrhopetalum graveolens F.M. Bailey.
B. putidum (Teijsm. &Binn.) J.J. Sm. from India to Indonesia, is a small epiphyte with solitary flowers that are green with crimson spots and streaks, long filamentous lateral sepals that are joined, except at the base, and unusual flag-like glandular hairs on the tips of the dorsal sepal and petals. Syn. B. fascinator (Rolfe) Rolfe, Cirrhopetalum fascinator Rolfe.
B. rothschildianum (O'Brien) J.J. Sm. from India is a small epiphyte with terminal umbels of crimson flowers with yellowish flecks and long filamentous lateral sepals that are joined except at the base. Syn. Cirrhopetalum rothschildianum O'Brien.
