Brassavola cucullata (L.) R.Br.

Medium sized epiphyte. Stems to 25 cm long, cylindrical. Leaf sub-cylindrical, to 25 cm long, to 8 mm wide, pendent, straight or curved, grooved, tip pointed. Inflorescences to 20 cm long. Flowers usually solitary, to 10 cm wide; autumn to winter. Sepals and petals linear-lanceolate, cream or greenish. Labellum obscurely 3-lobed, cordate to round, margins fringed, tip long-pointed, white, often greenish at tip.

Mexico, West Indies, C and S America.
